Agrii Leads the Charge: A Landmark Moment for Zero Emission Logistics

The future of logistics is accelerating, and Agrii has just taken a decisive step forward. The agricultural services leader has introduced its first fully electric heavy goods vehicle (eHGV), a Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 LS ProCabin Stream 4x2, marking one of the earliest adoptions of long-haul electric trucking in the UK.
At ZeroMission, we see this as a significant milestone for the logistics sector, proof that electric HGVs are no longer experimental but ready for real-world, full-duty operations.
Real World Range Meets Real World Reliability
Following extensive trials under full operational loads, Agrii found that the eActros 600 was the only electric truck capable of completing their 285 mile (460 km) nightly route on a single charge, and still returning with energy to spare. That kind of performance represents a turning point for large-scale fleet electrification, especially in sectors where route predictability and reliability are essential.
With a range of over 310 miles (500+ km) and an expected annual CO₂ reduction of 59 tonnes per vehicle, this deployment demonstrates how sustainability and operational efficiency can align without compromise.
As Richard Pinnock, Agrii’s National Distribution Manager, observed:
“It’s almost unnatural to think a truck that size can be electric and achieve such a distance on one charge. Sustainability is an important issue for the agricultural sector, and adopting our first electric HGV is a crucial step in reducing our environmental impact.”
From Concept to Commercial Reality
Agrii’s partnership with Midlands Truck and Van and Daimler Truck UK exemplifies the collaboration needed to bring heavy-duty electrification to life, from prototype testing and route modelling to data-driven transition planning.
Amit Verma of Midlands Truck and Van noted:
“From early prototype testing to detailed route analysis, this project has been a real partnership. Delivering the first eActros 600 to Agrii is a proud moment for everyone involved.”
And Daimler Truck UK’s Managing Director, Heiko Selzam, reinforced the message that electric logistics is not a far-off dream:
“Agrii’s adoption of the eActros 600 shows that electric long-haul transport is ready for real-world operations.”
Why This Matters for Fleet Transition
For logistics operators planning their path to zero emissions, Agrii’s success offers reassurance and inspiration. It demonstrates that with the right route data, charging strategy, and operational modelling, even long distance rural delivery networks can electrify without disruption.
At ZeroMission, our Fleet Modernisation and Advisory teams are helping fleet operators across the UK and Ireland do just that, building digital twins, energy simulations, and cost-to-serve models to ensure every step of the transition is efficient, measurable, and sustainable.
The eActros 600 story underscores what we tell our partners daily:
Zero emission logistics isn’t coming, it’s already here.
